How to use Rezon.io

Introduction

Welcome! Our service is designed for those who want to tap into the wisdom of those around them – from family and friends to clients, employees, and company leadership.
For this purpose, we offer a transparent and fair method of preferential voting. Unlike traditional "raising hands" voting, preferential voting takes into account the full spectrum of respondents' preferences – from the most desirable options to those that the respondent finds least acceptable. This method significantly improves the quality of the voting result, as it is much more nuanced and sensitive, facilitating the finding of the best compromise. If you are interested in learning more about preferential voting, we recommend our article "Explained on example on three different levels of understanding".

Registration on the Platform

There are two scenarios:
1.      You want to register for the project on your own. To do this, go to Rezon.io. If you are new to us, you will be taken to the login/registration page. You can log in using your accounts in popular services, or register using an email. Click the "Register" button and follow the instructions. We will send you a link to the specified address to confirm your email.
2.      You may have been included as a voting participant and invited via email. Open this email, accept the invitation, and you will automatically be taken to the authorization page, and simultaneously, receive an email with a login and a random password. Using this information, log in and immediately change the password in your personal account to a secure one.

Personal Account

We recommend starting with your personal account. Here, you need to fill in fields with mandatory information (marked), and also, if it's not a bother, fill in additional fields that will allow the authors of the votes to conduct more in-depth research, filtering results by various parameters such as country of origin or income level. Providing this information may help voting organizers pay more attention to their target group. For example, in the case of organizing a global survey on the convenience of using renewable energy sources, the opinion of people from different countries and income levels may be important.
In addition to mandatory and additional data, in your personal account, you can also find a list of your interests. Specify them, and we will fill the main page for you based on your preferences.
And, of course, here, in your personal account, you can familiarize yourself with your balance in the system (which may be useful for organizing more than 100 participants researches, etc.), or donate to the development of our project. We are developing within the freemium concept, and we are highly dependent on your support.

Creating a Vote

The top row of buttons on our site offers you several functions, including access to your personal account, language switching, and creating a new vote using the (+) button.
If you click on this button, the page for creating a new vote will open. Here you will need to enter the title of the vote, the main question that participants are seeking an answer to, and a detailed description of the vote. You will also need to choose the voting method (we recommend the Schulze method) and the method for resolving tie situations.
Next, you will be asked to define the type of invitations: “everyone with the link” or fixed (with a restricted list of participants who will be sent invitations). The status of participant joining will be displayed in the voting management interface.
Then set the voting period and select the type of results: public (available for viewing to all Internet users) or private (only for voting participants). On this page, there is also the option to cancel the creation of the vote by pressing the "Delete" button, or to proceed to the next step by pressing the "Next" button.
It should be noted that any vote, even if not completed, is saved in the "Your Votes" section as a draft.
On the next stage, you will enter the candidates' section. Here you will see an empty card with a (+) symbol. By clicking on it, you create a candidate. For each candidate, you will need to fill in the title, choose the color of the card, possibly add an image or video, and provide a brief description. This helps to improve the quality of the vote, as more comprehensive and varied information about the candidates allows participants to make more informed decisions.
Create as many candidates as you need (a minimum of two, but preferential voting is fully realized with three or more candidates). After creating each candidate, you must confirm the input by clicking the checkmark button on each candidate card.
After that, by clicking the "Next" button, you will move to the third column, which is intended for adding voters. Depending on the type of voters you have chosen earlier (anyone who has the link or a restricted list), different data will be displayed.
If you have chosen the option "anyone with the link," you will receive a link that you can distribute among potential voters. In the case of choosing a "restricted list," you will need to enter the email addresses of participants or select them from an existing list in your account.
After completing the input of all data, press the "Finish" button, and a dialog box will appear confirming the creation of the vote.
That's it, the vote is created. Now, briefly about how to manage an already created vote.

Managing the Vote

As an organizer, you can cancel the vote by deleting all data and returning to the vote creation page, but only before it ends – either by the timer or by the results of all the judges' voting. If the vote has ended normally, it cannot be deleted.
If you have a fixed list of participants, you can send a request to any of them to remove that participant from the vote before the voting ends (if, for example, they cannot participate) and change the email address (if for some reason that address is no longer relevant).
You will also have access to information about the status of each participant: Invitation sent, Invitation accepted, Invitation canceled, Vote collected.

Participation in the Vote

Your votes will be available in the "My Votes" section. You will see lists of all the votes in which you can participate or that you have created. By clicking on the vote link, you will see the description of the vote and the candidates' cards.
Each candidate's card may contain a video, photo, or text description created by the vote organizer. You can also make your notes using the pencil symbol and set a temporary rating for each candidate using the star button (just hold it and move vertically while holding – the rating will change accordingly). This will help you in ranking the candidates.
During the process of familiarizing yourself with the candidates, you can form your preference list, arranging the candidates in descending order of preference. We strongly recommend ranking all candidates to make your vote as informative as possible.
When you are confident in your choice, click the "Finish Voting" button.

Viewing the Voting Results

After the voting is completed, you will be able to view the results. This will include the description of the vote, the final ranking of candidates, and a simplified presentation of the results. You will also be able to see detailed calculation results by clicking on the link provided.

Advanced Features

We continue to develop our service and plan to add new features in the future. These include an improved results page, the ability to filter by participants' geographical location, exporting reports to PDF, conducting more large-scale votes, and creating corporate accounts.
Thank you for your attention! We hope that our service will become a useful tool for you.
